Legacy
Reprise exhibition, Alliance Française Melbourne
Concrete, oil pastels, expanded polystyrene foam, acrylic, 76cm2, 2017.
Photos by Clare Rae.
Two replica bollards were materialised from Melbourne streets into the basement of the 19th-century mansion at Alliance Française. Inscribed with frottage text from the gravestones of notable French artists, the project seeks to symbolise France’s rich cultural contributions contrasted with its profound losses as a result of terrorist acts.
